Marsha L. Greenstreet Passed away in the early morning hours on November18th at home surrounded with Family.
Marsha Greenstreet had many monikers, Wife, Mom, Mama, Sister, Daughter, Great Mama, Friend, Master Cook, Family Matriarch and Community Leader. Her strength, compassion and tireless energy was apparent to all that knew her. She always put others first and was last to fill her dinner plate.
She was born to Basil and Dema Vice in Burlington, Iowa as the eldest of three children. Her surviving siblings, Debbie Parrish (John) and Craig Vice (Cheryl) were always very important to Marsha.
On April 4th, 1965, Marsha married Jerry Greenstreet in Kirksville, Missouri. They moved many times during their early years of marriage as part of Jerry’s position with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. During those years they raised their two surviving children, Jeff Greenstreet (Audrey) and Dana Robinson (Galen). When they moved to the DeSoto/Hillsboro area, this is where Marsha and Jerry established their deepest roots and became prominent members of these communities. Marsha worked for Commerce Bank of Festus for several years, becoming the first female Vice President before deciding it was time to strike out on her own and establish her first business, Greenstreet Insurance Agency which Dana joined her as part of the business and will continue to operate. It was not unusual to be about town with her and to encounter people who recognized her and would greet her and chat like a close friend.
She obtained countless awards and accolades, Saint Louis Women of Achievement, among many others, but it was the act of giving that motivated Marsha, not the awards. Family and Community were what drove her every day. She tirelessly cared for Jerry, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, St. Andrews Methodist Church community and her many customers of her insurance agency, Greenstreet Insurance. Her care for people and health drew Marsha to the Juice Plus family and she, along with her daughter-in-law Audrey, became representatives passionate about improving the health of others.
Marsha was the founding President of the Twin City Optimist Club and Charter member of the Hillsboro Lions Club. As a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in DeSoto, she was very active with the membership and enjoyed singing frequently at the services.
Surviving Marsha are her husband, Jerry, their children Jeff (Audrey), Dana (Galen), grandchildren: Samantha (Kyle) & Nicole – Jeff & Audrey’s daughters, Shelby (Drew), Jessica and Tyler – Dana & Galen’s children, great grandchildren: Alexandria & Marcy – Shelby & Drew’s children.
Heaven is celebrating, Marsha is Home.
