Patricia “Patty” Elaine Vreeland was born January 1, 1949 a daughter to Irene O. (nee Paavola) and Charles McGregor Faulkner, Sr. She died at her De Soto home on April 5, 2013 at the age of 64. She is survived by her mother who lives in De Soto; her husband of 25 years Mike Vreeland; two daughters Alexandra “Ali” (Ryan) Gad, San Diego, CA and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Vreeland, De Soto; one grandson: Levi McGregor Gad; three brothers: Charles “Chuck” Faulkner, Jr., De Soto, Bruce (Debbie) Faulkner, Emmett, Idaho, and Drew Faulkner, Overland Park, KS; and a dear and devoted caregiver: Danyel Jones of De Soto. She is preceded in death by her father. Patty had founded the Jamaica Bay Skirt Company. She then taught English and Art at the Hillsboro R-III Public School District until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, was a gifted artist, potter, and seamstress.
