Dr. Fred E. Bradley, Sr. was born in Bismarck, MO on Sept. 12, 1938. Son of Leslie “Sonny” and Mary Jane (nee McGeorge) Bradley. He passed away December 18, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 85. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Judith “Judy” (nee McClard) Bradley; four adoring children: Fred E. (Heather) Bradley, Jr., De Soto; Chad (Vanessa) Bradley, Hoschton, GA; Stephanie (Chad) Morlan, De Soto; and Laura (Greg) DeRousse, De Soto; and treasured grandfather of Kristin, Sydney, Jeremiah, Samuel, and Emma and 8 great grandchildren. He is survived by brother Max (Brenda) Bradley, West Plains; and preceded in death by parents and three brothers, Sid (Alice) Bradley, Bill (Doris) Bradley, and Frank (Cyndy-surviving) Bradley. Dr. Bradley’s accomplished 40 year career in public education began with the De Soto Public School District as a 6th grade teacher, gifted basketball coach, principal and Superintendent. Following his service in local public schools, Dr. Bradley continued his dedication to education as Adjunct Professor of Southeast Missouri University, and concluded his esteemed career as Professor and Doctoral Board Member of the College of Education with the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Dr. Bradley’s legacy in education will ripple through generations of our community and his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
