Woodrow J. Livengood, Jr. was born in De Soto on October 26, 1939 a son to Olive Lucille (nee Uland) and Woodrow J. Livengood, Sr. He died in De Soto on March 23, 2023 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Carolyn (nee Davis) Livengood; three children: Carlene Branson, De Soto, Mark (Teresa) Livengood, Waynesville and Brian (Jacquelyne) Livengood, De Soto; grandchildren: Kara (Dustin) Smith, Zachary (Ashley) Livengood, Lauren (Tim) Fessler, Kelsay Pemberton, Kasey (Robert) Gipperich, Tyler (Alecia) Livengood, Veronica Livengood, Gabrielle Livengood, Amy McMinn, Kimberly (Ryan) Brooks, Brittany (Zach) Graham, MacKenzie (Isaak) Starkey, Jaidyn McMinn and Clayton McMinn; twelve great grandchildren and two sisters: Dorothy (the late Marvin) Kite, De Soto and Ruth Ann (the late Joe) Coleman, Jefferson City. He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Kyle Branson and two sisters Thelma Blum and her husband Bob and Joyce Wideman and her husband Harry. Also known as “Woody” or “Jack” he served in the United States Army and was a retired sandblaster for St. Louis Refrigerator Car. He was a Life Member of AmVets Post #42 and American Legion Post #253 where he served for many years on their military honors team. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.
