Shelby “Jean” Freund was born September 26, 1937 in Grubville, MO. She was the daughter of Shelby and Esther (nee Miller) Wideman. She died at Mercy Hospital St. Louis at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her two sons, Richard G. (Laura) Freund, De Soto, MO and Kelly S. (Sheri) Freund, Ironton, MO; two brothers, Dale Wideman, St. Charles, MO and David Wideman, St. Clair, MO; grandchildren, Nicole Freund Miller (Chris); Tyler Freund (Molly), Justin Freund (Cindy), Ethan Freund (Kaylee); great-grandchildren, Cameron Garlik, Heston Freund, William Freund, Flint Freund, Kort Freund, Warren Freund, Sage Freund, Owen Miller; Marx Green and Bizley Green. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry B. Freund; a granddaughter Elizabeth Freund and one sister, Alma Mahoney. Jean worked as a secretary at Jefferson College.
