Robert James Thebeau, “Bro. Bob”, was born in Granite City, IL on October 13, 1951 a son to Joseph Alvey and Mildred Lorine (nee Conway) Thebeau. He went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2026 at the age of 74.   He served 4 years in the Air Force Station for 13 months of that time at Suwon Air Base, South Korea.  On February 23, 1975 he surrendered his life to the Lord at Twin Oak Free Will Baptist Church.  He then served held several positions at Twin Oak including Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Song Leader, Deacon and C.T.S. President.  Bro. Bob answered the call to preach in 1979.  He pastored 5 churches: Oak Hill, Old Bethel, Twin Oak, First Free Will-De Soto and Leadington.  He also volunteered with many of the Free Will Youth Camps; served on the National Home Mission Board and the Missouri State Home Mission Board.  He preached over 200 revivals in seven states and New Brunswick, Canada. He also held nursing home services while serving the church in De Soto.  On April 15, 1971 he married Kathryn Jane Huffman at Mill Creek Free Will Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife Kathy Thebeau, De Soto; their children: Faron W (Abigail) Thebeau, Rolla, Ben Thebeau, Fredericktown, Brett (Katie) Thebeau, De Soto and Amy (Sean) Kelly, St. Charles; grandchildren: Chance (Carmen) Thebeau, Levi (Ashley) Thebeau, Tara (Dakota) Deer, Eli Thebeau, Payton Thebeau, Itziar Thebeau, Truman Thebeau, Dominic Thebeau, Sadie Thebeau, Cash Kelly, Wade Kelly and Reese Kelly, Marissa (Hayden) Davis, Krystin (Tanner) Emring and Brooke (John) Blum; great grandchildren: Parker , Lincoln and Winnie; two sisters Kay Johnson, Anna, IL and Susan (Kenny) Alley, Fredericktown; and two sisters in law: Sarah Thebeau, Farmington and Penny Thebeau, Columbia.  He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Gary Thebeau and Raymond Thebeau and a brother in law Jack Johnson.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donation may be made to the Missouri State Association of Free Will Baptists – Show Me Plan.
