Ruby A. Fernimen was born on the family homestead in Texas County, OK on November 23, 1922 a daughter to Dewey C. and Gladys (nee Elmore) Hensley. She died on April 6, 2022 at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre at the age of 99. Ruby had retired after teaching for 25 years in the De Soto Public School District. She enjoyed traveling, reading and bird watching. She is survived by two daughters: Micaela Kristin-Kali, Webb City and Christi (Ed, Sr.) Pope, De Soto; six grandchildren: Christopher (Shannon) Filkins, Festus, Paul (Jennifer) Filkins, Festus, Joseph (Andie) Eschbacher, Carthage, Eddie (April) Pope, Jr., Knob Noster, Leslie (Joe) Mulvaney, Cochranton, PA and Jerry (Lisa) Pope, Waynesville; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Christopher C. Fernimen, Jr.; one sister Marge Papay and one brother Elmer Hensley.
