Marjorie S. Cope was born August 5, 1925 in Grandin, MO and raised in St. Louis, MO. She was the daughter of Guy and Ruth (nee McDaniel) Smith. She passed on April 3, 2017 at her residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (the late Howard) Mueller, De Soto, MO and Karen “K.C.” Cope, De Soto, MO; and one son, John T. (Sandie) Cope, Jefferson City, MO; one brother, Rev. James (Shirley) Smith, St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith, Moro, IL; grandchildren, Tina (Scott) Dreher, Catherine (Adam) Howard, Mark Mueller, Jackie (Rick) Williams, Beth Whaley, Katie (Chris) Lange; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Lily, Maya, Matthew, Tyler, Alyssa, William, Jonathon, and Alex. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Cope; and one brother, Marion Smith. Marjorie was a elementary school teacher in the De Soto, Grandin, and Sunrise School District. She was a member of  the O.E.S.; St. Andrews United Methodist Church, St. Andrews United Methodist Church Choir; and Missouri Retired Teachers Association. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to the VITAS Hospice, St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, or Vineland School Library.
