Johna M. Thurmond was born on January 1, 1952 in St. Louis, MO. She was the daughter of John “Dub” & Dorothy (nee Yarbrough) Pirtle. She died on June 1, 2024 at her home in De Soto, MO at the age of 72.
Johna is survived by her husband, Patrick Norton of De Soto, MO; her daughter, Kimberly (Mike Sweeney) Thurmond-Sweeney of Fredericktown, MO; step-sons, Rick Abel of Hillsboro, MO; Billy Thurmond of Fredericktown, MO; and Patrick Norton of St. Louis, MO; and step-daughter, Shannon Norton; sister, Mitzi (Terry) Johnson of Woodlawn, IL; grandchildren, Brendan Sweeney, Michael Maze, Alonna Abel, Silvia and Ashley; and great grandchildren, Shylo , Shaddow, and Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, David Pirtle and Butch Connell.
