Margaret Grace “Peggy” McMullin was born in De Soto on May 17, 1929 a daughter to Amanda Grace (nee Evans) and Theodore Hurtgen, Sr. She died on October 7, 2026 at Crystal Oaks at the age of 97. She is survived by her children: Mary (Mark) Lacey, Hillsboro, Mark (Susie) McMullin, Bonne Terre and Charles F. “Rick” McMullin, Crystal City, grandchildren: Joey (Jenny) Lacey, Mike Lacey, Amanda (James) Leggett, David (Kyla) Lacey, Jacob (Alyssa) McMullin, Heather (Dustin) Miller, Nichole (Kerry) Cook and Chrissy McMullin, her great grandchildren: Amiaya (Tyreece Shores) Cheek, Trevor Lacey, Henry Lacey, Everett Lacey, MacInnis “Mac” Lacey, Waylon McMullin, Jackson McMullin, Bear Miller, Griffin Miller, Evelyn Miller, Amelia Miller, Mason Cook, Molly Reiter and Josie Reiter and a great great grandchild Zion Lacey. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles H. “Mac” McMullin; her daughter in law Sue McMullin; two sisters: Katherine (Jerry) Jerrett, Rose (Robert) Tolson and three brothers: Theodore (Mae Marie) Hurtgen, Jr., Robert (Shirley) Hurtgen and Howard Hurtgen. Peggy and Mac owned and operated McMullin Masonry until their retirement. She was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
