James Theodore Copeland was born December 13, 1933 in Gideon, MO. He was the son of Hueit Strider and Lela Pearl (nee Parker) Copeland. He died on May 26, 2015 at Scenic Nursing & Rehab in Herculaneum, MO at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his children, Robin Copeland, St. Louis, MO; Denise Bauman, Killeen, TX; and James (Sandra) Copeland, De Soto, MO; one brother, Doug (Betty) Copeland, Sikeston, MO; two sisters, Carol Smith, St. Louis, MO; Ruth Ann Cantrell, Herculaneum, MO; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Charles; Wayne, and Bruce Copeland; Vivian Price; Earline Rowan; Pauline McClure; Catherine Rowell; Jewel Copeland; and Ralph Copeland. James served in the U.S. Army and worked as an engineer on a riverboat.
