Glen Harold Youngblood was born in Crystal City on October 16, 1958 a son to Norman and Dorine (nee Lampman) Youngblood. He died on March 31, 2024 at Mercy Hospital South at the age of 65. He is survived by his mother who lives in Virginia Beach, VA; his wife Mary Beth (nee Schwab) Youngblood, De Soto; six children: Kari (Bill) Reissing, De Soto, Glen Youngblood, Jr., Cape Girardeau, Kristin (Corey) Casey, St. Peter’s, Brandy (Jeff) Goodman, Olathe, KS, Brandon Price, De Soto, and Loni Beth Price, De Soto; seven grandchildren; a sister Marian Davis, Virginia Beach, VA and a brother Donald (Vanessa) Youngblood, Festus. He is preceded in death by his father and a brother Randy Youngblood.

To know Glen is to love him. He was known for his jovial personality and humor. If he wasn’t cracking a joke, then you knew something was wrong. Glen could light up a room with his inviting spirit, but also close it down with a long nap cozied up in his Lazy Boy chair with a grandkid or his dog, Molly. He loved his family so much and not a day went by that he didn’t think of them or reach out with a quick word. Children with special needs were near and dear to Glen. He thought that sometimes angels are disguised as kids with special needs to teach us how to be better people.

Glen was a signal electrician for the Missouri Department of Transportation for over 25 years and has worked HVAC for DeSoto Public Schools, DeSoto Fuel, and Doe Run Lead in Herculaneum. Glen loved to keep busy and worked part-time doing various jobs. Glen also had a passion for playing the drums for the church and singing for anyone willing to listen.

His departure comes as a great shock and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his community. The family appreciates your support during this difficult time and as an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Waymaker Project Free Store in DeSoto or DeSoto Public Schools. These contributions will be managed by Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home 220 N. Main St., DeSoto, MO 63020.
