Geneva Lee “Billie” Russell was born in Brazil, MO in Washington County, MO on October 4, 1925 the day an older sister was married. She was known as Geneva to her side of the family and Billie to her husband’s side of the family and local friends.

Billie passed after a short stay at Hillcrest Nursing Center on October 31, 2023 at the age of 98 years 27 days. She was the daughter of Jefferson Riley and Bessie (nee Martin) Brakefield.

Billie is survived by her children, Alvin (Nickolyn) Russell, Gary (Grace) Russell, and Judy (David) Eisenhauer, grandchildren, Karen (Shawn) Dement, Mark (Carrie) Russell, Lisa (Mark) Jordan, Stephen (Jeni) Russell, and Matt (Michelle) Eisenhauer; eight great-grandchildren; two close nieces, Donna Russell and Dorothy Russell and additional nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd C. Russell; brothers; all of her brothers and sisters and in-laws Howard and Ethyl Brakefield, Leonard and Blanche Brakefield, Marple and Alfred McKee, Malone and Norvel Speidel, Jane and Lloyd Belew, Gladine and Quinton Schmidt, June and George Russell, Hazel and Ira Moses, Jean and Paul Dickinson, infant sister Zelda Brakefield, Deloris and Walter (Bud) Siebels, Clara and Home Weible, and nephew, Wayne Russell.  As an expression of sympathy memorials can be made to the De Soto Christian Church, 4151 Fountain City Rd., De Soto, MO 63020.
