Dr. David Crawford Nuckols was born in Sullivan, IN on April 27, 1948 a son to Patricia (nee Crawford) and Rev. Howard Winfred Nuckols, Sr. He died at Mercy Heart Hospital in St. Louis on September 22, 2021 at the age of 73. He is survived by four children: Taylor (Michelle) Cunningham, New Braunfels, TX, John (Bailey) Nuckols, O’Fallon, MO, Christian Nuckols, St. Louis, and Lauren (Michael) Jolley, Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren: Celine, Ella, Jonah, Avery, and Eli; three brothers: Byron “Tom” (Patsy) Nuckols, Reno, NV, John (Gerri) Nuckols, Austin, TX and Kent (Mary) Nuckols, San Francisco and one sister Sandra Nuckols, Paducah, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Susan (nee Wilson) Nuckols; one brother Howard W. Nuckols, Jr. and one sister Sondra Nuckols.
Dr. Nuckols served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He then transferred to the Air Force where he studied to become and Optometrist. After retiring from the Air Force he moved to the Hillsboro area and practiced Optometry in De Soto. Following his retirement from private practice he then moved to St. Charles.
