David William Edwards was born in Hendrickson on May 18, 1933 a son to Walter and Ida M. (nee Alexander) Edwards. He died on March 18, 2023 at his De Soto home at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Edna (nee Pendley) Edwards; his children: Cheryl (Sid) Helms, Fredericktown, Nancy (Randy) Syring, Pheonix, AZ and David (Angie) Edwards, Jr, De Soto; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Marshall, Christina Wagner, Brian Friedman, Sarah Olivas, Joshua Edwards, Jeremy Edwards, and Jacob Edwards; seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchildren; one sister Josephine Martin, Sikeston and one brother Robert Edwards, Poplar Bluff. He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, two sisters: Louise Ray and Marjorie Mann and one brother Elbert Edwards. David served in the United States Army and was a member of Teamsters Local #600 and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a retired driver for Yellow Freight and a member of First Baptist Church-De Soto.
