David Michael Brandt was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 21,1942 a son to Billy Jewel and Regina Marian (nee Morgan) Brandt. He died at his rural De Soto home that he built and loved so much surrounded by his family on January 31, 2026 at the age of 83. A 1960 graduate of Osage High School, Dave served in the United States Army and Missouri National Guard and went on to own and operate Basic Asphalt Paving until his retirement. On October 20, 1979 he married Linda (nee Valle) Brandt. He is survived by his wife Linda who lives in De Soto; his sons: Craig (Lisa) Brandt, Martinsburg, Rod Brandt, Jefferson City, Chris (Miranda) Brandt, Eldon, Troy Dickinson, Springfield, Mike (Katie) Brandt, Festus and David (Sahila) Brandt, Affton; his grandchildren: Jeremy “J.R.” Brandt, Stephanie Brandt, Summer Brandt, Clayton Brandt, Sylvia Modesitt, Carrie Modesitt, Hannah Brandt, Chris “C.J.” Brandt, Matilda Brandt, Collyn Brandt, Sara Brandt and Cyrus Brandt; several great grandchildren and two sisters; Beverly Hill, Kanas City and Peggy Brandt, Eldon. David is preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law Stanley Hill. David enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and working on their house and property. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #689.
