Carolyn K. White was born on February 10, 1947 to Chesley and Irene White, in her grandmother’s house in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Carolyn was married July 7, 1967 and became Carolyn LaChance. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Chesley White (Butch) of Oklahoma, sister Darlene Ann Hurtgen. Carolyn has one surviving sibling, her brother Marvin White of Missouri.
Carolyn went to Bonne Terre High School and graduated in 1965. She loved baton twirling and liked her home economics class. Carolyn had 3 children. Her oldest, Lisa Puckett of De Soto, MO, and her 2 daughters. Madelyn and Justin Smith of St Louis and Morgan and Eli Redman of High Ridge. Her second child, Tammy and David Buchanan of Farmington, MO and their 5 sons. Dylan and Devon Frazier of Imperial; Seth and Emily Frazier of De Soto; Michael Tindall, Tristan Buchanan and Caleb Buchanan all of Farmington. One Son, Glen and his wife Brandolyn of Farmington, MO and their 4 daughters. Adreanna LaChance of Farmington; Alaniss and Wesley Files Of Illinois; Aubrie LaChance and Avarie LaChance of Farmington. Carolyn also had 4 great grandchildren: Finley Redman, Walker Frazier, Charlotte Files and Elllie Files; 2 step-daughters; Dawn Tilley and Tracy Walsh and their grandchildren and great grandchildren; she also is survived by 2 nephews and a niece.
Carolyn worked at Hare’s Grocery in Bonne Terre, Missouri, Bonne Terre Hospital, later in life Carolyn worked for Pittsburg Plate Glass Factory and retired in 1995. She then went to work at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and retired in 2008. Carolyn lived the majority of her life in Missouri. She loved to travel. Her favorite place was Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She enjoyed visiting the Ark Encounter last year. She was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn had many special kids throughout her life that called her Nana and an honorary daughter, Sheila Dodson. Carolyn had a special place in her heart for her cousin, Marylin Brown, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carolyn was a believer in Jesus Christ and it was important that her family and friends knew that. Carolyn was a member at Highland Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Just like Tigger, she said she was the only Nana.
