Betty J. Gowan was born in De Soto on December 11, 1929 a daughter to Lloyd and Pearl (nee Reynolds) Johnson. She died in De Soto on July 4, 2021 at the age of 91. She is survived by her daughters: Linda (Robert “Bob”) Nappier, Fenton, Rhonda (Doug) Landau, Dittmer and Cindy (Steve) Greer, De Soto; her grandchildren: Erica Watts, Fenton, Takara (John) Dingley, De Soto, Michael (Amanda) Nappier, Fenton, Courtney Landau, Fenton and Tyler Landau, Fenton; great grandchildren: Mia Watts, Jayden Watts, Ava Nappier, Ella Nappier, and Emma Landau and a sister Doris Hale, De Soto. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Benjamin H. Gowan. Betty had retired from the Loan Department of Boatmen’s Bank and with her husband Ben had also volunteered for the De Soto Food Pantry. She was also a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, De Soto. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the De Soto Food Pantry, P.O. Box 552, De Soto, MO 63020.
