A wonderful neighbor and friend. My thoughts are with the family in this time of their grief. Now he is at peace and joining Pete in singing God's praises. Stay strong. I'll be praying for all of you. God Bless.

Dear Schlett Family, We are so sorry for your great loss. I remember your dad so fondly. He would pretend to be grumpy but he had a big heart and smile. I always loved coming over to your house when Sara and I were in St. Rose. Yes, it was loud, and there were always kids running around, but you felt the love that was present for anyone who came through the door. I pray your dad is no longer in pain and enjoying all the children of heaven. Sincerely, Tamra Rice Derickson

Uncle Al has made a huge difference in so many children's lives myself included. A hundred years from now...it will not matter what his bank account was, the sort of house he lived in, or the kind of car he drove... but the world will be different because he was important in the life of a child.

It was only yesterday when Mary and I would sit on Alfred's lap and he would sing to us, as he was waiting for Kathleen to come downstairs to meet him for a date (1950). What a saint!

Kathy, how wonderful to have shared sixty years together. As a couple you have raised your beautiful family along with being foster parents to many others. No one can know the commitment and time that takes until they have walked beside you. The privilege of my connections through education afforded me the honor of knowing your family. May you all find peace and healing knowing many care and hold you dear in their hearts. Glory to GOD for a life everlasting. Mary Lou Cowie

Dearest Cathy and family, Mother and I were so saddened when we learned of Al's passing. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by all the lives he touched while on this earth. He was a great friend to my loving daddy and mother. We know that he is in a much better place than all of us who are left behind. May God soften your pain and bless you Cathy for your loss. We love you!
