Alberta Lawson was born November 12, 1943 in Ironton, MO. She was the daughter of Thomas Shepherd and Eunice Dora (nee Wilkerson) Dufrenne. She died on June 22, 2023 at Stonebridge Nursing Facility in De Soto, MO at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Veronica Keelin, De Soto, MO and Valerie McAbee, De Soto, MO; one son, Joe Schmidt, Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Brandon French, Ashley French; Alexis McAbee, Alisa McAbee, Valerie French, and Mandi Barber; one great-grandchild, Jeremiah Strickland; siblings, Laura German, Fenton, MO; Pam Shepherd, St. Louis, MO; Mike Shepherd, St. Louis, MO; Tyrone Shepherd, St. Louis, MO; Jeff Shepherd, St. Louis, MO; and Dathan Shepherd, St. Louis, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents; children, Merita Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt, and Tim Schmidt; siblings, Tom Shepherd, Terry Shepherd, Eugene Shepherd, and Rita Shepherd.
