- Memorial Gathering: Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home with a funeral procession forming at 2:45 pm to travel to Calvary Cemetery for a 3:00 pm graveside service officiated by Rev. Dr. G. Michael Rose.
Venetta May Joedicke was born in De Soto on December 30, 1931 a daughter to Stephen Albert and Hettie Leora (nee Reed) Humphrey. She died on October 2, 2022 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing at the age of 90. She is survived by her children: Roy R. (Mary Lee) Joedicke, De Soto, Joyce A. (Dale) Graham, Garden Ridge, TX, Marie (the late Alan) Schuh, Hillsboro, Emil M. “Matt” Joedicke, Jr., De Soto, Stephen L. (Linda) Joedicke, Sr., De Soto, Jeffrey W. (Amy) Joedicke, De Soto and Tracy L. (Matt) Zoph, De Soto; her grandchildren Scott (Christy) Joedicke, De Soto, Jason (Beth) Joedicke, Affton, Lisa (Mark) Cummings, Liberty Hill, TX, Crissy (Donovan) Dove, New Braunfels, TX, Cory Schuh, Hillsboro, Vronica (Kendill) Gordon, Colorado Springs, CO, Stephen (Felicia) Joedicke, Jr, Festus, Travis (Erin) Joedicke, Crystal City, Shelly Joedicke, De Soto, Christopher (Djuna) Joedicke, Hillsboro, Mitchell Zoph, De Soto and Jordyn Zoph, De Soto; her great grandchildren: Dustin Joedicke, Jacob Joedicke, Lexi Joedicke, Taytum Dove, Sydnee Dove, Grayson Dove, Katelyn Joedicke, Taylor Joedicke, Mason Joedicke, Abbi Settlemoir, Payton Joedicke, Trinity Long, Boston Joedicke, Shantel Joedicke, Skyler Joedicke, Bradley Joedicke, Sarah Joedicke, Harper Schuh, Khali Gordon, Milahni Gordon, and Kyiah Gordon; one great great grandchild Brayden Joedicke and two brothers Donald (the late Luella) Humphrey, De Soto and James (Olive) Humphrey, Camdenton. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emil M. Joedicke, Sr., one son: Albert Allen Joedicke; one grandson Shawn (Erin survives) Joedicke; two great grandchildren: Samantha Joedicke and Lilli Joedicke; one sister Anna Pyle and two brothers Albert (Marcy) Humphrey and Robert (Pauline) Humphrey. Venetta worked in many clothing factories as a seamstress, was a supervisor for a clothing factory and also had worked at the De Soto Shoe Factory. She also volunteered with the Girl Scouts.
