Velva Jean Dick was born in De Soto on December 18, 1933 a daughter to Clyde K. and Mary Jane (nee Johnson) Miller. She died in Cedar Hill on Feb 26, 2011 at the age of 77. She is survived by her two children: Herman Wayne Dick , St. Louis, and Linda (Wayne) Gillmann, Cedar Hill; two grandchildren: Cassandra (Paul) Wilson, Arnold, and Shannon (Matt) Skaggs, Potosi; two great-grandchildren: Shane Barr and Conner Wilson; two brothers: Donald (Faye) Miller, Utah, and Marshall (Dina) Miller, Hillsboro; five sisters: Janet (Kenneth) Thomas, Hillsboro, Jackie (Joe) Couch, Pevely, Delores (Herbert) Coplin, Imperial, Betty Harrison, Fletcher, and Mildred Horton, Moweuque, IL;and two sisters-in-law Delores Miller, De Soto, and Norma Miller, O’Fallon. She is preceded in death by her husband Herman C. Dick; three brothers: Clyde “Sonny”, Elbert “Butch”, and Edwin “Ted” Miller; two sisters: Mary Lou Couch and baby Miller, and a brother-in-law Bob Harrison.
