Thelma Marie Britt was born in De Soto on July 31, 1929 a daughter to Pheneas and Pearl (nee Livengood) Kite. She died at her De Soto home on February 20, 2015 at the age of 85. She is survived by her children: Tina (James) Snowden, Zion, IL, Charles (Norma) Cantrell, Florissant, Terry (John McKlin) McClanahan, Ste. Genevieve, Carol (Jerry) Shepherd, Hillsboro, Debbie Cates, Groton, CT, Pat (Steve) LaPlant, Hillsboro, Kimberly (Mark) Shrewsbury, McLouth, KS, and Danny (Melodie) Duncan, Barnhart; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law: Tom Keener, Hillsboro; and a sister-in-law Dorothy “Dot” Kite, De Soto. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Glen Britt; two daughters: Bertha Keener and Connie Allen; one son: Ronald Duncan; two brothers: Marvin Kite and Elmer Kite; a son-in-law: David Allen; and a sister-in-law: Betty Kite. Thelma was a member of the First Baptist Church-De Soto where she had served as the Chairperson for the Senior Adult Fellowship and was also a member of the AmVets Post #48 Auxillary serving as their Chaplin for many years. Rev. Dr. Jeremy Muniz will officiate the funeral service. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church-De Soto.
