Shirley May Kercher was born December 11, 1926 in St. Louis, MO. She was the daughter of Charles Sr. and Grace Amanda (Boggs) Brown. She died on August 28, 2014 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her daughter, Joni Harmon, Irondale, MO; brother-in-law, Bruce Wood, Boynton Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Elaine Kercher, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Pat Kercher, Reading, PA; Bonnie Brown, Ballwin, MO; and Gerry Brown, High Ridge, MO; step-granddaughter, Shawna Kage, McCrae, AR; and honorary grandson, John Pinson, Pflugerville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert M. Kercher; brothers, Charles S. Brown, Jr. and James W. Brown; sister, Joan M. (Brown) Wood; son-in-law, Lendell E. “Gene” Harmon; brothers-in-law, Harold Kissinger, Paul S. Kercher, Jr.; Donald Kercher; sisters-in-law, Dorris Kissinger and Betty Kercher; and step-grandson, Chad Blubaugh. Shirley was a retired civil servant; worked many years as a contractor for Department of Defense; on-site manager at Charles Gardens; clerical worker in assessor’s office for Jefferson County, and was a clerical volunteer in Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
