Rose W. Beardslee was born Dec. 10, 1919 in Illmo, MO a daughter to William Henry and Rose Missouri Palmer Shaw.   On Nov. 27, 1940 she married John Ranney Beardslee and from this union five children were born. She died Jan 2, 2010 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center at the age of 90.   She is survived by her children Ruth Beardslee, St. Charles, John (Darlene) Beardslee, Altenberg, Robert (Sherie) Beardslee, Hillsboro, Elizabeth (Michael) McKim, Dittmer, and Patricia Lou (John) Fischer, Manchester; her brothers William Henry Shaw and Dr. Robert Shaw, both of Columbia; and 10 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband  and her sisters Gussie Schaffer, Helen Endrizzi, Mildred Russell, Emma Lou Fremont, and Hazel Adams.  Ms Beardslee was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the NEA. She taught in a one room schoolhouse in Illmo, MO and later taught in the Hillsboro Public School System from 1967 – 1983.  After her retirement from teaching she was a volunteer for and served on the board of the Hillsboro Food Pantry.
