Richard Thomas “Rick” Winkler was born February 27, 1958 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Raymond and Elaine (nee Murphy) Winkler. He passed on October 25, 2026 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife Kathy (nee Cordia) Winkler, Festus; his daughter, Ashley (Matt) Scaglione, St. Louis, MO and son, Kyle Winkler, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, MacKenzie Campagna, Luca Scaglione and Jonah Scaglione; siblings, Terry Winkler, Overland Park, KS; Debby (Joe) Gabris, St. Louis, MO; David Winkler, St. Louis, MO; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Winkler, St. Louis, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ty Cordia Winkler; and three brothers, Robert, Douglas and Roger Winkler.

Rick found his greatest joy in being around his family and friends. He found particular joy in watching his grandchildren grow and learn, as well as spending time with his beloved dogs Buster and Bailey. Beyond family time, he was passionate about the outdoors—he devoted countless hours to his garden, where he grew all sorts of vegetables that he generously shared with anyone interested. His farm in Bloomsdale held a special place in his heart. He especially loved spending time deer and goose hunting. Among his most cherished experiences were the frequent annual getaways he took with loved ones to Lake Michigan for salmon fishing adventures. While Rick enjoyed all kinds of sports, one of his proudest achievements was coaching his daughter’s soccer team throughout her entire journey during which they captured multiple CSMAC championships. He truly enjoyed life and will be greatly missed.
