Nancy Mueller Gardner, 69, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away quietly on May 26, 2026. Born on May 10, 1957, in DeSoto, Missouri, Nancy lived a life dedicated to caring for others and leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion.

Nancy pursued her passion for helping others by earning a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Her dedication to her profession was recognized in 2017 when she was honored as one of The Great 100 Nurses. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to her patients. Her love for nursing extended beyond the clinical setting; it was a reflection of her deeply giving nature and desire to meet the needs of those around her.

A devoted wife to Richard Gardner for 35 years, Nancy exemplified steadfast love and support through both joyful and challenging times. She cherished her role as a mother to Sam Gardner and Robyn Oakley, always present in their lives by attending school events, chaperoning field trips, and even stepping into the classroom as a substitute teacher. Her devotion extended to her grandchildren, RJ Oakley and Garrin Oakley, who were a source of immense pride and joy.

Nancy’s faith was an integral part of her life. She provided prayer and spiritual support not only to her family but also to friends and patients alike. In retirement, she found solace and community at Providence Road Church of Christ.

Beyond her professional achievements and family devotion, Nancy found joy in reading and education. She believed in lifelong learning and shared this passion with those around her. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Richard Gardner; son Sam Gardner; daughter Robyn Oakley; grandsons RJ Oakley and Garrin Oakley; younger brother Robert Mueller; and mother Betty Mueller. She is reunited in peace with her father Robert Mueller and eldest brother Howard Mueller.

Nancy’s legacy is one of love, care, and selflessness—a testament to the life she lived so fully. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
