Mildred Sloan Hardin was born on February 22, 1927 in De Soto, MO.  She was the daughter of Oliver “Spot” & Golda (nee Kobel) Oker.  She died on November 12, 2023 at Hillcrest Care Center at the age of 96.

She is survived by her sons, Steve (Carolyn) Sloan of De Soto, David (Rachell) Sloan of South County, and Mark Sloan of De Soto; one brother, Robert Oker of St. Louis; grandchildren, Chad (Karen Mooney) Sloan, Jamie (Dewayne Smith) Sloan, Derrick Sloan, Phillip (Sonja) Sloan, Samantha Sloan, and Sarah (Chris) Taylor; and great grandchildren, Zachary Sloan, Logan (Lyssa) Yancey, Nate Sloan, Jackson Taylor, Iris Taylor, Emma Taylor and Rose Taylor.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Sam Sloan and Vernon Hardin; two sisters, Betty Young and Janet Pinson, and one, brother, George Oker.

Mildred served the De Soto, Richwoods and Good Shepherd School Districts as a substitute teacher and spent many years as the organist for the Trinity Episcopal Church.

As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the De Soto Food Pantry or the Trinity Episcopal Church.
