Mary Alice Smith Myers was born July 6, 1928 in De Soto, MO. She was the daughter of John F. and Ethel A. (nee Blackwell) Leach. She died on December 19, 2023 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Facility, Crystal City, MO at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her children, Richard (Cathy) Smith, San Diego, CA; Mary (Juan) Mendez, St. Louis, MO; Douglas (Angie) Smith, De Soto, MO; Patrick (Adrienne) Myers, De Soto, MO; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Mueller, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, Kelley (Ray), Erin, Ian (Alicia), Ruthie (Cory), Dylan, Caitlin (Brandon), Matthew, and Brian; great-grandchildren, Madison, Tyler, Chase, Griffin, Vivian, Preston, Mira, Farron, and Lilian. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Wilfred P. Smith and F. Harold Myers; one son, Mark Smith; one sister, Ida Lee Windle; and a brother-in-law, Robert “Dutch” Mueller. Mary Alice worked as District Secretary for State Rep. Bud Lewis; Bill Bray Buick, John Dickinson Auto Sales, and Mike Klaus State Farm. She served as past MO Dept. President AmVets Auxiliary 1991-1992 and 1997-1999 and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also very active at the De Soto Community Church of God. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be given to the De Soto Community Church of God Building Fund, 300 W. Mineral St. De Soto, MO 63020.
