Lynn Simpson Cunningham, 78, of Hillsboro died September 6, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Cunningham retired from Jefferson College as a math professor in 2002. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era and remained in the Reserves for 20 years. He retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Cunningham served for many years in the Church of the Nazarene as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and Trustee. He was also a member of the Methodist Church and was involved in the Walk to Emmaus as a teacher and sponsor. He was also involved in the Gideons International. Born May 3, 1943 in Washington, D.C. he was the son of Joanna (Dale) and Leslie Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Elizabeth Grant of Peoria, IL.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Jan (Stoner) Cunningham, three daughters: Teresa Wheeler of Ozark, MO, Catherine Graves of Carterville, IL, and Rebecca Cunningham of Arnold, MO; three sons-in-law: Patrick Wheeler, Dale Grant, and Jeremy Graves; eight grandchildren: Nicole Wheeler, Alex Wheeler, Nathan Wheeler, Gabe Wheeler, Marielle Grant, Josiah Grant, Charlotte Graves, and Jonathan Graves; and three brothers, Glenn (Linda) Cunningham of Willard, MO, James Cunningham of Eagle Rock, MO, and Lewis (Glenda) Cunningham.
