Joan Brockes was born September 26, 1934 in St. Louis, MO.

She passed from this life on June 25, 2023 in Springfield, MO at the
age of 88 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (David) Taylor, Cedar Hill,
MO; Kathi Johnson, Springfield, MO and Kym Brockes, De Soto, MO;
three grandchildren; Denver Gamble of Roanoke, TX,
Justin Payne of Imperial, MO, Kristina Hannke of St. Louis, MO
four great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; one
sister, Sondra Sutton, Roach, MO; two brothers, Robert (Ava) Null,
Arnold, MO and Kenneth McArthy, Arnold, MO.

She is preceded in death by her parents; William Branson McArthy
and Maxine Clara (nee Duke) Rodgers.
her husband, Paul Brockes; three sisters, Shirley “Joyce” Heibel,
Nancy Ann Williams, and Iris Gail Spain.

She was a member since 1984 of Rose of Sharon Full Gospel Temple where
she was a General Board Director, a tremendous altar worker, praying
for everyone she came in contact with, she was in charge of church
and funeral dinners, she started the Christmas Food basket
distribution, the funds for those in need, and always made sure
Missions was supported every month, sending to Israel first…all for
nearly 40 years. She loved teaching at VBS, wrote songs the church
still sing today, and wrote poems for every special occasion… her
humor made it uplifting and her hugs were priceless.
