Gene A. Krondinger was born October 5, 1940 in De Soto a son to John V. “Vic” and Mae M. (nee Wall) Krodinger. He died July 10, 2015 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 74. On January 16, 1965 he and Valda Johnson were married at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. Gene and Valda have two children: Steven (Nicole) Krodinger, Festus, and Victoria (Rick) Rousch, Potosi; grandchildren: Andrew (Vanida), Brittney, Courtney, Camren, Nicolas, Colton, Wyatt, Nicole (Ginny), Kayleigh (Curtis), and R.J.; and two great grandchildren Lexie and Leland. Also surviving are three sisters: Mary (Warren ) Baisch, De Soto, Patricia (Joseph) Sainato, Chesterfield, and Cindy (Dr. Jeff) Copeland, St. Charles; two brothers: Carl (Debbie) Krodinger, Lacombe, LA and Ronald (Susie) Krodinger, De Soto. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother: William Krodinger. A graduate of St. Rose of Lima Elementary School, De Soto High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia Gene taught and served as Principal at several area schools including Athena, Hillsboro, St. Rose of Lima, and De Soto. He also worked at Western Auto and for the De Soto Wal-Mart Store. He was a very active volunteer with many area amateur sporting teams. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and B.P.O.E. #689. Deacon Ed Boyer will have evening prayers Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 7:00PM. Fr. Alexander Anderson will officiate the Funeral Mass. As an expression of sympathy memorial may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
