Evelyn Lewis was born September 30, 1927 in De Soto, MO. She was the daughter of Lilburn R. and Mildred (nee Meinhardt) Kleinschmidt. She passed on February 21, 2017 at St. Andrew’s at Frances Place in Eureka, MO at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her her children, Jackie Lewis, De Soto, MO; Tom (Ree) Lewis, Washington, MO; and Gary Lewis, Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren, Zach (Mandy) Lewis, Cory (Lisa) Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Scotty (Jane) Lewis, Betsy (Brian) Jewell, Megan (Jake) Evans, and Allison Lewis, and nine great-grandchildren; one sister: Wilma Dautehahn, Marshall, MO; and a special friend, Pete Davidson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack E. Lewis; and one brother, Wesley Kleinschmidt. Evelyn was City Clerk in De Soto for over 25 years and a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, De Soto, MO.
