Ellen James “Jamie” Hanna was born on July 29, 1943 in Bloomfield, MO. She was the daughter of Dr. Richard & Doris (nee Ponder) Davis. She died on October 29, 2023 at De Greef Hospice House at the age of 80.
Ellen married Ed Hanna on December 24, 1961 in Advance, MO he survives and resides in De Soto, MO; she is also survived by her daughter, Cindi (Jim) Maddock of Rock Hill, MO; a sister, Mary (Bill) Lucas of Festus, MO; 2 grandchildren, Hanna and Owen; one niece, Debbie (Pat) Gant and one nephew, Rick (Donna) Lamar..
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Teresa Schultz. Mrs. Hanna was a teacher at De Soto School District and also served as Assistant Principal at Vineland Elementary. After retirement, Jamie worked with her husband as a professor for Southwest Baptist University. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, and cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Vineland Elementary School.
