Doris Caldwell Hale was born in De Soto on January 15, 1932 a daughter to Lloyd and Pearl (nee Reynolds) Johnson. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family on September 21, 2024 at the age of 92. She is survived by her children: Karen (Edgar) Huffman, De Soto, Rodney (Karen) Caldwell, De Soto and Brenda Halton, De Soto; her grandchildren: Amy (Dan) Hickman, Julie (Matt) Czapla, Justin (Christina) Caldwell, Jenni (Brian) McAllister, Sara (Matt) McAllister, Amanda (Jerry Nappier) McCullough, Josh (Emily) McCullough, Clay Halton and Chelsey (Jake) Theiling; 32 great grandchildren, with two on the way; three great great grandchildren on the way and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Howard Caldwell and Bob Hale; a son in law Larry Halton; a grandson Andrew Huffman and her sister Betty (Ben) Gowan. Doris had worked as a teller for the American Bank of DeSoto and had retired from State Bank of De Soto. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
