David Leland Laney was born June 12, 1941 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of Francis Towner Laney and Maxine Edith (Campbell) Laney. He died on February 11, 2014 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 72 years 8 months. He is survived by his wife, Frances Mae (Shirrell) Laney, De Soto, MO; daughter, Andrea (Mike) Maples, De Soto, MO, Suzanne (Stephen) Harris, De Soto, MO; Jennifer (Kevin) Manes, St. Peters, MO; grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, Seth, Sophie, Laney, and Nathan. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Kelly and Lionel Laney. He moved to De Soto in 1974 and opened Laney’s Restaurant with his wife. He later worked as an industrial engineer for several manufacturing companies, most recently Sigel- Robert Automotive. But no matter where his work took him he loved De Soto and always considered it his home. David was also a member of Faith Baptist Church, Festus, MO.
