Dave was my manager at Lever Brothers for 3 yesrs. He was a person that I truly respected and learned a lot from him. I owe my whole Industrial Engineering career to him. I am very sorry for not being in contact sooner and would like the Laney family know, I will always remember him. I know how he cared so much about Do Soto township and always thought the highway sign should be larger. He talked to me about his restaurant business as an entrepreneur. He was the most honest person and in every situation knew the right things to do.

Suzanne and family: So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Your family brought so many good memories and good times to the people of our town with the restaurant. Your family should be so proud of him, his hard work, and contributions to DeSoto. We can only imagine the huge hole he will leave in your family. Please know your entire family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Cindy (and Cathy) Brawley

My husband and I had the great pleasure of working with Mr. Laney during our time at Siegel-Robert. Not only was Mr. Laney a great story-teller, he would enthusiastically enjoy times we had as a group to pick on each other and share stories of our families. It was apparent through his actions he was a man of God and no words were needed to know this about Mr. Laney. I'm sure Mr. Laney is enjoying his time acquainting himself with his heavenly family and will patiently wait for those he loves to join him. You will be missed here on Earth, Dave, and may God bless your family during this difficult time.

Dave Laney was a very dear friend to me,we worked tougethor at Sigel Robert Inc. Dave was a father figure to me. I lost my youngest son in a car crash and it was if God sent him to me. When I had days where I didn't think I could go on any more, there was Dave he helped me threw, cried with me and prayed with me.He would hug me and comfort me and tell me many verses from the Bible.I love my friend dearly and will truly miss him..My life has been blessed and I thank God for bringing him into my life.
