David Francis Mueller was born April 30, 1925 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of Howard C. and Louise (nee O’Farrell) Mueller. He died on September 30, 2023 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 98 years. He is survived by his children, Patty (Tom) Donnell, Nashville, TN and Rebecca (Paul) Bradford, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, David Bradford, Melissa (Mike) Klug, Sara Bradford, Ramsey (Sarah) Donnell, and Laura (Dimitri) Donnell; Great-Grandchildren, Margot Klug, Gabe Klug, Sadie Clark, Greta Clark, Grady Donnell, and Henry Donnell; and a sister-in-law, Betty Mueller, De Soto, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Jean “Betty” (nee Becker) Mueller. David and Betty were married on January 18, 1946 and had been married for 69 years when she passed away on February 9, 2015; he is also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Mueller, one sister, Thelma (Ed) Lucas; half-sisters, Maude (Ozwald) Imhoff, Joann Hayes, Mary (Louis) Pouliezos, Ruby (William) Graff; step-sisters, Pearl Norris, Thelma (Owen) Finney, Olive (Kirk) Perryman, Louise (John) O’Rourke, Gladys (Robert) McKay, and Pearl (Lee) McCutcheon; step-brothers, Frank (Jewel) Wilson, Charles (Corrine) Wilson, Everett (Adele) Wilson, Raymond (Juanita) Wilson, Lee (Juanita) Wilson, and Tate Wilson. David Served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a carpenter for a few years then went into business with his brother in law Harry Becker. They built many schools and commercial buildings in Jefferson County.  In 1980 he opened Cottonwood Golf Course and ran it until the early 1990’s before selling the golf course to Hale Irwin.  Dave and Betty enjoyed visiting their second home at Hilton Head Island. David served on the Board of Directors of Jefferson Memorial Hospital for 30 years  and the American Bank of De Soto Board of Directors. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #689, Knights of Columbus, AmVets Post #48 and the De Soto Rotary Club. He enjoyed playing golf and continued to play well into his nineties. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Adopt-An-Angel or Alzheimer’s Association.
