Darlene Hastings was born Doris Darlene Murray in Harviell on September 18, 1936 a daughter to Lawrence and Lois (nee Reynolds)  Murray. She died at Baisch Nursing Center on October 2, 2021 at the age of 85.  Darlene had worked as a salesperson for Mueller Electric.  She was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed going to yard sales, camping, flower gardening,  fishing, playing the piano and singing.  She especially cherished time spent with her family. She had become very interested in genealogy and had researched both her and her husband Junior’s family history.  Darlene and Junior were the recipient of the “Yard of Distinction” award from P.R.I.D.E. (People Really Interested in De  Soto’s Environment).  Darlene is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years Junior Hastings; her children: Brian (Lisa) Hastings, De Soto, Sherri (Larry) Sacker, Ft. Wayne, IN and Rhonda (Jack) Morris, De Soto; three grandchildren: Wesley, Spencer and Amanda; three great grandchildren: Rosalie, Bennett, and Wake and a sister Gloria June (Leroy) Murray, Harviell. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Leon Murray.
