Cleo Merlin Pigg was born in Ware on July 29, 1926 the youngest of the twelve children of Preston and Susie (Layman) Pigg. He died at his rural De Soto home on May 27, 2022 at the age of 95. He is survived by three children: Debbie (Gene) Allen, De Soto, Larry (the late Sandie) Pigg, Festus and Darren (Kimberly Kochavi) Pigg, De Soto; five grandchildren: Tammy (Brian) Sadler, Melinda (David) Draper, Susan (Brian) Pfeiffer, Christy (Jeremy) AuBuchon and Amanda (Ben) Waggamon; great grandchildren: Katelyn (Kevin) Smith, Cora (Andrew) Brain, Andrew Sadler, Ashley (Christian) Sidebottom, Joshua Draper, Brendan Pfeiffer, Kirstan Pfeiffer, Haley AuBuchon, Lyndsey AuBuchon, Jackson Waggamon, Erin Waggamon and Whitney Waggamon and one great great grandchild Kenna Turner. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary “Fern” (nee McCurdy) Pigg; three sisters: Bertha Brauch, Alice Goodwin and Grace McKeen and eight brothers: Ira Pigg, Claude Pigg, Floyd Pigg, Lloyd Pigg, Charles Pigg, Jesse Pigg, James Pigg and John Pigg. Cleo was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He had retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass as a glass worker. He enjoyed working in his garden and around his home.
