Al was such a quiet, unassuming guy...and solid as a rock. He seems like he's been part of the family for a long time and we will all miss him. Kate Pope Hodel

Alvin was 10 years older than me. He was always my big brother. He & Mary took care of me a lot in my formative years. I stayed with them for weeks at a time, & when I became a teen, I lived with them for a couple of years. They taught me so much ...love , respect, morals, & much more.
Alvin use to come pick me up from work at midnight, when he had to work the next day.
He bought me car, just because I needed one.
He took me to the hospital the night Jeff was born.
What can I say. He was my big brother, he loved me, & I loved him. There are no words to say how much I will miss him. I'm so thankful for the 71 years that I had him as my big brother. And, I'm so thankful for his 2 wonderful sons, who will forever remind me of him.
Rest in peace, brother. You've earned it.

I cant believe hes gone. Al was like a father to me. He and Paulette "adopted" me into the family a long time ago. The last time i saw him was a little over a week ago, he always had fatherly advice to give me. I am blesed and proud to be associated with such a proud family, i will never ever forget this loving man.
