William Thomas Young, Jr. was born January 18, 1927 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of William Thomas Sr. and Dela (Starns) Young.
He died on April 12, 2011 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 84 years.
He is survived by his son, William T. “Bill” (Sherri) Young, III, De Soto, MO and daughter, Diana (Raymond) Jones, De Soto, MO; siblings, Georgia Nienauber, St. Louis, MO, Margeret Autry, Crystal City, MO, Betty Maness, Florida, and Eugene Young, De Soto, MO; five grandchildren, Scott Jones, Angela Jones, Renee Odum, Jennifer Young, and Alecia Young; four great-grandchildren, Clayton, Taylor, Colton, and Ava.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, L. Grace Young; siblings, Earl Young, Violet Huskey, Sylvia Evans, and Kathleen Ellerd.
William was a member of the American Legion Post 253; served in the U.S. Marine Corp; member of the First United Methodist Church, De Soto, MO.
