William Clifford “Cliff” Christopher was born in DeSoto on March 10, 1939 a son to Clifford Lee and Virginia (nee Hoyt) Christopher. He died August 16, 2012 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 73.. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Effie F. (nee Larkin) Christopher; two children Julie (Gary) Germain, Flower Mound, TX, and Greg (Margi) Christopher, Bloomington, IL;  seven grandchildren: Christopher Yost, Heather van der Dys, Todd Germain, Adam Germain, Taylor Christopher, Jake Christopher, and Lauren Christopher;  three sisters: Marion (Bob) McKay, Seattle, WA, Gloria (Gordon) Hubka, Seattle, WA, and Norma (Dennis)  Helms, Festus; and three brothers: Jack Christopher, Festus, Ray (Wonda) Christopher, Cherryville, and Jerry (Donna) Christopher, Festus. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers:  Robert Christopher, Charles Christopher, and Jimmy Christopher.  He served in the Navy on nuclear submarines during the Vietnam War and upon returning to De Soto worked as a process  engineer at the nuclear fuel plant in Hematite while earning a degree in chemistry from Washington University.  Rev Gene Moses will officiate the service with burial with military honors to follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, De Soto.  As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to CONTACT, P.
