Vernon E. Henson, Sr. was born December 20, 1953 in St. Louis a son to Larry and Verla Mae (nee Warncke) Henson. He died surrounded by his family at his Valles Mines home on May 17, 2013 at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife Judy (nee Alexander) Heson who he married on December 20, 1983. Also surviving are three sons: Vernon (Kelly) Henson Jr., Valles Mines, Desi (Anne) Moore, O’Fallon, and Jason (Jerrianne) Henson, Sugar Valley, GA; two sisters: Jeannie Lowe, Farmington, and Sue Schutte, De Soto; two brothers: Larry Henson, Victoria, and Greg (Michelle) Henson, Bonne Terre; four grandchildren: Landen, Dylan, Ethan, and Bethany. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister in law: Brenda Henson; and two brothers in law: Ernest Lowe and Leroy Schutte. He had worked for many years as a welder for St. Louis Refrigerator Car and later M.E.I. Railroad. He enjoyed the outdoors, racing, and Duck Dynasty. Brother James Wade will officiate all services.
