Samuel Curtis “Curt” Martin was born February 21, 1961 to parents Samuel E. and Lois “Betty” Elizabeth (Crose) Martin. He grew up in Hillsboro, Missouri with his two sisters Donna (Martin) Soto and Lois (Martin) Menius.

Curt attended Mapaville School and went on to have a long career at Jeffco Subcontracting, from where he eventually retired. Curt was an active member of the Next Step for Life program where one could always find him dancing and enjoying music with his friends as well as going on many trips to new and exciting places. Curt also was active in the Special Olympics with his main sports being bowling, track and field, and bocce ball.

Curt was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro and enjoyed the last year of his life at the Baptist Home in Ironton, MO.

Curt brought a sense of joy to everyone that crossed his path. He would always be the first to greet any guests into Sam and Betty’s home on holidays or family gatherings. As the evenings went on, he was always the first to put on music and dance/sing along. He had a great sense of humor and a delightful laugh.

Curt passed away on December 4, 2021. He is survived by his sisters Donna Soto, Lois (Mark) Menius; his three nieces and nephews Amber (Brandon) Stevens, Stephen (Nicole Tennyson) Menius, and Rebecca Menius; and his great niece Luciana Rodriguez.

As an expression of sympathy memorials to The Baptist Home, 101 Riggs Scott Ln. Ironton, MO 63650.
