Roy Lee Filkins was born on November 6, 1938 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of Frank Filkins and Hulda Mae (nee Hardin) Filkins Landrum. He died on January 2, 2026 at Mary Queen and Mother Nursing Facility in Shrewsbury, surrounded by his family, at the age of 87.
Roy is survived by hischildren, Jamie (Dan) Miles of Affton; and Jodi (Paul) Pagano of Affton; Todd (Lisa) Filkins of Oakville; Brian (Amy) Lindbloom of Trafford, PA and Leigh (Rob) Teichman of Lafayette, CO; grandchildren, Garrett, Mitchel, Aaron, Zach, Lexi, Brittany, Ally and Jessica; and a great grandchild, Dustin and one-on-the-way; sister Joyce (nee Filkins) Boyer; sister in law Louella (Doug) Blecha; and a host of many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty (nee Ratliff Filkins) Kamer, his second wife, Eleanor “Cozy” (nee Stevens) Filkins; his long-time friend, Carol Caffery; one grandson, Brian “Buddy”; and brothers, Robert “Bob” Filkins and Richard “Dickie” Filkins; sister Judy (nee Filkins) Boyer.
Roy served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1960-1966.
