Peter “Pete” Daniel Hammond was born March 13, 1955 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of William O. “Bill” and Alta M. (nee Eaton) Hammond. He died on April 13, 2026 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 71 years.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elsie E. (nee King) Hammond, De Soto, MO; one daughter, Dawn (Matt) Selsor, De Soto, MO; two sons, Zeb (Annie) Hammond, De Soto, MO; Dakota (Brittany) Hammond, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, Lo Hammond, Mac Hammond, Colter Hammond, Kevin Sanders, and Harley Selsor; one great-grandchild, Mila; one sister, Alta Jayne Hammond, De Soto, MO; and a sister-in-law, Jane Hammond, Hillsboro, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Melissa “Missi” Hicks; one brother, Bill Hammond; two sisters, Jimmie Sue Meyer and Kitty Lou Nichols. Pete retired as President of Carpenters Local #2214. Pete was a member of the B.P.O.E. #689,  Amvets Post #48 and Carpenters Local 2214. He also enjoyed the World of Outlaws racing series.
