Pauline “Polly” Schmitt was born in Harnett County, NC one of the 20 children of Joseph Henry and Lucy Elender (nee Lee) McLamb. She died at her Valle Lake home on September 24, 2023 at the age of 91 and 1/2 years. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Allen) Little, De Soto; four sons: Terry Schmitt, De Soto, Ricky (Sharon) Schmitt, Festus, Tracey Schmitt, Festus and Tony (LeAnn) Schmitt, Celina, TX; seven grandchildren: Amber (Brian) Rose, Jason ( Mallory McBrayer) Henson, Jeff (Melinda) Henson, Jake (Colleen Mienhart) Henson, Deanna (Marshal) Patterson, Jeanette (Randy) McKee and McKayla Schmitt; 14 great grandchildren; and one sister Evelyn Webb, Sanford NC. She is preceded in death by her parents, and eighteen brothers and sisters. Polly was a wonderful cook who enjoyed being with her family. She also enjoyed and was still gardening, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and refrigerator magnets.
