I was so sorry to hear of Mary Alice's passing. Knowing she sang her way into Heaven made me smile. I had Mary Alice both as a Teacher and a Cheerleading Coach. I enjoyed those trips to Cheerleading camp. After graduation, I considered Mary Alice a lifelong mentor and visited her anytime we were back in DeSoto and spoke frequently by phone. Mary Alice was my favorite teacher and a Dear Friend. I will miss our talks. Lynne and Michael Obermeyer, Granite Falls, North Carolina

Ms. Weber was one in a million. She inspired, pushed, set high expectations for her students' success and made sure they did succeed, each in their own way. I "feared" her for fear I would disappoint her in my efforts - but oh my, what a wonderful educator for many to use as a model in their own classrooms (I included.). Ms, Weber, you will never be forgotten, for you have touched so many, many lives. My deepest sympathy to her family, and please know - she made a difference in THIS life, and countless others. Rest in Peace, dear lady.

RIP Ms. Weber. Had American History with her and was a member of the Scholar Quiz Club she sponsored that competed on the local CBS affiliate TV show of the same name. She also played in a bridge club with my mother and several other DeSoto teachers. Great teacher and person.

Im so sorry to hear of Ms Weber’s passing but I’m so grateful for what she gave me. She gave me confidence and a desire to serve something greater than myself. (28 years in the Air Force and a career that I’m so proud to have had) Mary Alice was such an inspiration to so many during her long life. She will remain in my heart and hopefully, someday, I will see her again. Rest in peace Ms Weber… you deserve it so.

I actually never had Miss Weber as a teacher; my high school relationship with her was through cheerleading and her sponsorships of various clubs and activities I was involved with. We also attended the same church. She and I shared a mutual respect and her support and confidence in me was appreciated and powerful. Thank you, Miss Weber, for your dedication and contributions to education and your positive influence on so many young lives. RIP
