Hribernik, Louis A., 93 of Hillsboro, MO. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 after a courageous fight against heart disease and infirmities.
Adoring husband of the late Irma (nee Myers) Rossier Hribernik who died Nov. 3, 1993; step – father to the late June (nee Rossier) Martin and J.J. (Sonny) Rossier; step-grandfather to Maureen (Robert) Spence, Fenton, Becky (Mel) Lowry and Chuck (Vicki) Martin, both of Hillsboro, JoAnn (Marty) Dale, Rockport, TX, and Lou (Janelle) Martin, Alpharetta, GA; step-great-grandfather to Bob (Clare) Spence, Springfield, MO, Barbara Vonder Haar, Hillsboro, Tami (Bo) White, Chandler, AZ, Andrea (Matt) Conley, St. Louis, Dustin (Stacy) Lowry, De Soto, Callie Mahan, Imperial, Scott Lowry, Hillsboro, Steve Spence, Columbia, Brittany Larrimer, Brooklyn, NY, and Cait Martin, Atlanta, GA. He was also survived by 11 step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother Tony Hribernik, San Antonio, TX; 2 sisters-in-law , Mary Lou Hribernik, St. Louis, Co., and Dorothy Schwantner, St. Louis; nieces; nephews, and special friends the members of the Rural Parish Workers of Christ the King.
Mr. Hribernik was reared in the Carondolet Park area of South St. Louis and attended St. Boniface School.
He married Irma Rossier on May 4, 1940 and they moved to Washington County, MO in October of 1945. They owned and operated the Golden Pheasant Inn near Washington State Park until 1965.
Mr Hribernik was well known for his fried chicken and his caring for his family.
He and his wife moved to Hillsboro in 1990 to be near their grandchildren.
Mr. Hribernik was a member of Amvets Post 48, De Soto Elks Lodge 689, and Carpenters Local 2214.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Zadnik) Hribernik, 2 sisters Anne Hribernik and Mary Moore, 2 brothers Joseph and Frank Hribernik
Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, De Soto, MO.
